我們的世界，無處不是設計，空間要設計、物件要設計、制度要設計……什麼事都要設計，連做事的方法都需要設計。由此可見，「設計」不是單一的概念，在不同的情況下會有不同的意義。然而，不論是哪一種設計，設計的本質一直都是在解決問題與創造價值。
我們用設計塑造了當今的世界，那麼未來呢？未來的世界，我們希望它變成什麼樣子？「DESIGN NEXT」不是在預測未來，而是要做出提醒。未來雖然擁有無限可能，但是未來的面貌，取決於我們認同的價值：我們要設計什麼，是因為我們相信什麼。
在我們的世界裡，矛盾與衝突從未消失，但是互相否定其實是驅使世界前進的動力。因此，我們應當擁抱差異，樂於溝通，在此間追求我們共同崇尚的價值：人權、尊嚴、多元、包容、公平、正義、自由、民主、和平、永續。當前的設計成就鼓舞著我們，讓我們充滿熱情充滿愛，期待明天會更好。
Design is everywhere in our world, shaping the spaces we inhabit, the objects we use, the systems we rely on, and even the ways we act. “Design” is not a single concept, and its meaning shifts depending on context. Yet, no matter the form it takes, the essence of design has always been to solve problems and create value.
If design has shaped the world we know today, what will it shape tomorrow? What kind of world do we hope to create? “DESIGN NEXT” is not a prediction of the future, but a reminder. The future holds infinite possibilities, but what it becomes depends on the values we uphold: how we design reflects what we believe in.
Our world never lacks contradictions or conflicts, but these tensions are what drive progress. We should embrace differences and remain open to dialogue, seeking the values we collectively cherish—human rights, dignity, diversity, inclusion, equity, justice, freedom, democracy, peace, and sustainability. Today’s design achievements encourage us, fill us with passion and care, and fuel our hope for a better tomorrow.
